Description
Two-section 7075 aluminum shafts give the Switchback the toughness to take a beating on rocky trails, and they flex slightly under load instead of snapping, which is why many long-distance hikers still prefer aluminum to carbon. Length adjusts from 100 to 135 cm with external lever locks whose tension you can set with a thumbwheel, no tools needed.
The foam grips stay comfortable in cold weather and extend down the shaft for quick hand changes on climbs. Padded adjustable wrist straps, tungsten carbide tips and interchangeable rubber feet for pavement come standard. Each pole weighs 255 g (9 oz), and they collapse to 68 cm for travel. Replacement parts stay in stock for years after purchase. Shown in slate blue with black lever locks and foam grips.
