Description
On the coldest days on high peaks and polar trips, the Bivouac surrounds each hand with 800 fill power responsibly sourced down inside a waterproof, windproof shell. Down loses loft when it gets wet, so the shell and a sealed internal membrane keep moisture out, and the removable synthetic-filled liner mitt can be dried separately inside your sleeping bag overnight.
The palm is treated goat leather for grip on ropes and poles. A long gauntlet with a drawcord seals over parka sleeves, and wrist leashes keep the mitts attached when you pull them off to adjust a crampon strap. Each mitt has a soft nose wipe on the thumb. The pair weighs 340 g (12 oz) and fits over a thin liner glove. Shown in burgundy with black leather palms.
