Description
A single short aluminum hoop over the head end lifts the fabric and mesh off your face, which is the difference between a tolerable bivy and one you actually enjoy. The Nightjar weighs 620 g (1 lb 6 oz) and packs smaller than a 1-liter bottle, a strong option for alpine climbs, bikepacking and solo trips where a tent is too much.
The upper is a waterproof, breathable three-layer laminate with taped seams, and the floor is 40-denier nylon with a 5000 mm coating. A diagonal zipper opens the upper for entry and can be left partly open behind the mesh for ventilation. The interior fits a sleeping pad up to 64 cm (25 in) wide and a winter sleeping bag.
Staking loops at the head and foot hold it in place in wind. Shown in dark moss with tan zipper pulls.
