Description
Down where it counts and synthetic where it gets wet: the Firn places 850-fill-power responsibly sourced goose down across the chest and back, then switches to moisture-tolerant synthetic insulation at the shoulders, cuffs and hem, where snow, pack straps and sweat tend to collapse loft first.
Its 10-denier recycled nylon shell weighs next to nothing but is calendered to resist down leakage, and stretch fleece panels along the sides breathe while you climb. The hoodless design layers cleanly under a hardshell hood. Two handwarmer pockets and an internal chest pocket use lightweight coil zips, and the whole jacket weighs 285 g (10 oz).
Use it as a warm midlayer on cold ascents or as a standalone jacket on dry alpine evenings. Machine wash on a delicate cycle with a down cleaner. Shown in charcoal with pale ice blue zipper pulls.
