Three-layer construction means the membrane is bonded between a 40-denier recycled nylon face and a smooth knit backer, so there is no loose liner to snag or wet out. That makes the Brackenridge the Northwend shell for multi-day trips in wet places: it holds up to pack straps, hail and a week of being crammed wet into a stuff sack.
The helmet-compatible hood cinches down with two side adjusters and one at the back, and the stiffened brim holds its shape in wind. Chest pockets sit above a harness or hipbelt, and long two-way pit zips handle ventilation. Water-resistant coated zippers replace storm flaps to save weight, bringing the jacket to 420 g (14.8 oz).
