Arete Insulated Alpine Glove

Description

Ice climbing, ski mountaineering and winter summits demand a glove that stays warm without stealing dexterity, and the Arete manages both with a goat leather palm, a stretch softshell back and a waterproof, breathable insert bonded to the shell so the lining never pulls out when you yank your hand free.

Insulation is mapped to the hand: 170 g synthetic fill over the back where wind hits hardest, and a thinner 100 g layer in the palm to preserve feel on axe shafts and ropes. Pre-curved fingers reduce fatigue when gripping, and a gauntlet cuff with a one-handed cinch seals over jacket sleeves. Wrist leashes, a carabiner loop and a soft nose wipe on the thumb finish it off. Treat the leather with wax twice a season. Shown in graphite with tan leather palms and slate grey gauntlet cuffs.
