Stonechat Vented Hiking Shoe

Description

Hot, dry trails and desert canyons are the Stonechat’s territory. Large mesh panels and perforated suede let heat escape, and drainage ports in the midsole let water out after wading, so the shoe dries within a few hours in warm weather. Shown in sand mesh with tan suede overlays, a white midsole and a tan outsole.

The hard-wearing rubber outsole has 3.5 mm lugs that grip sandstone and dusty hardpack, and a forefoot rock plate protects against sharp stones. The cushioned EVA midsole is light enough for long days, at 360 g (12.7 oz) per shoe in a men’s US 9. A light-colored upper stays cooler under strong sun. Wear it with thin merino hiking socks to cut down on blisters in the heat, and knock out trapped sand through the open mesh at the end of the day.
