Description
The Alder is our first fully vegan hiking boot, with no leather, animal glue or wool anywhere in its construction. The upper is a microfiber synthetic that looks and wears like nubuck, made with 50% recycled content, over a waterproof, breathable liner. Laces and webbing loops are recycled polyester, and the adhesives are water-based.
A supportive EVA midsole with a TPU shank sits on a rubber outsole with 4.5 mm lugs. The mid-height collar steadies the ankle on rocky trails, and the boot breaks in within a few hikes. Each boot weighs 500 g (17.6 oz) in a men’s US 9. It can be resoled just like our leather boots, so a worn tread does not mean the end of the boot.
