Description
A stripped-down shape and narrow profile keep the Couloir out of the way when reaching overhead on steep snow and ice. The body is a single tube with a drawstring collar and a removable lid, with no side pockets to snag on rock, and the hip belt comes off entirely for climbing in a harness.
Two ice tool attachments use glove-friendly toggles and pick protectors, a rope strap runs under the lid, and a reinforced crampon patch is sewn into the front. The back panel is a closed-cell foam pad that doubles as a sit pad or emergency bivy insulation, and gear loops on the hip belt hold ice screws. Fabric is 210-denier high-tenacity nylon ripstop with a waterproof coating. Stripped, it weighs 890 g (1 lb 15 oz); fully built, 1.2 kg (2 lb 10 oz).
Shown in signal red with charcoal straps.
