Description
The Bothy is built for heavy loads and rough country: multi-day routes where the trail is rocky, the pack weighs over 20 kg (44 lb) and a boot must not fold under it. The upper is 2.6 mm oiled full-grain leather in one piece from toe to heel, with a leather lining that molds to the foot over time. There is no membrane; the waxed leather itself keeps water out and breathes well.
Stitchdown construction joins the upper to a double-layer leather midsole and a stiff nylon shank, and our workshop can replace the heavily lugged rubber outsole again and again. Weight is about 850 g (30 oz) per boot in a men’s US 9. Expect a break-in period of several weeks. A tin of beeswax conditioner comes in the box. Shown in oxblood brown full-grain leather with brown laces and a black sole.
