High altitude and snowfields reflect enough ultraviolet light to cause snow blindness in a single day, and the Lowtide is built for exactly that environment. Its category 4 lenses let through only 3 to 8% of visible light and block all UVA and UVB, while removable side shields in a vegan faux leather stop stray light from sneaking in around the edges.
A round-oval frame in lightweight nylon composite pairs with spring hinges and curved wire temples that hook behind the ears for a secure fit under a helmet or on a scramble. The lenses are tuned to boost contrast on snow and ice. They’re too dark for driving, so bring a second pair for the trip home. Includes a padded case and retainer cord. Shown in olive green with bronze lenses.
