Description
A belay parka goes on over everything, including your hardshell and harness, the moment you stop moving. The Kingsdown is oversized for exactly that job, with 170 g/m² of continuous-filament synthetic insulation in the body and 133 g/m² in the sleeves, so it keeps its warmth when spindrift, meltwater and sweat get into it. Shown in cobalt blue with a black interior.
A two-way front zip lets you belay with the parka half open and the rope running through. The insulated hood fits over a climbing helmet and closes high around the chin. Internal mesh drop pockets hold skins, gloves and batteries, and two external handwarmer pockets are lined with brushed fleece. The 20-denier ripstop face is windproof and carries a PFAS-free water repellent.
Weight is 780 g (1 lb 11.5 oz), and it compresses into the included stuff sack for the approach.
