Windlass Fastpack Trail Shoe

Description

Fastpacking asks more of a shoe than a day of running: a loaded pack, long days and repeated wear. The Windlass bridges trail runner and hiker, pairing a 30 mm heel stack of firm, supportive foam with a torsionally stiff shank that steadies the foot under a pack of up to 12 kg (26 lb).

Suede overlays at the toe and heel sit over a durable mesh, and a low rubber rand fends off abrasion. Because it is a Cairnwick shoe, the outsole is both stitched and cemented, so it can be resoled through our repair service long after a typical trail runner would be retired. It weighs 320 g (11.3 oz) in a men’s US 9, with 4 mm lugs for mixed terrain. Shown in coyote tan with dark brown suede overlays, a grey midsole and a brown outsole.
