Aster 2 Max Cushion Running Shoe

Description

Long, slow miles and recovery days are what the Aster 2 is for. It stacks 42 mm of supercritical foam under the heel and 36 mm under the forefoot (6 mm drop), and a wide base with a gently rockered toe keeps the ride stable and rolling rather than mushy, even deep into a marathon build.

For the second version we cut 20 g by switching to a single-layer jacquard mesh and trimming the outsole rubber back to the heel and toe-off zones. A gusseted, padded tongue stays centered, and a sculpted heel pull makes it quick to slip on. The shoe weighs 280 g (9.9 oz) in a men’s US 9, and in our lab’s mechanical compression tests the midsole kept most of its rebound past 500 miles (800 km). Construction is vegan throughout, with water-based adhesives.
