Porchlight Enamel Plate Set

Beans and sauce stay on the plate, not the picnic table, thanks to the shallow lip on each of these 25 cm (10 in) enamel plates. The Porchlight set includes four, each porcelain enamel over steel with a contrasting rolled rim, weighing about 230 g apiece: sturdy enough for years of camp dinners yet far lighter than stoneware.

The slight bowl shape handles pasta and salads as well as grilled food, and the plates stack neatly in a camp bin or cabin cupboard. They’re dishwasher safe and won’t hold onto odors from last night’s fish. Enamelware can chip when knocked against rock, so slip a dish towel between the plates when packing the car.
