Description
Week-long routes with resupply points and cold-weather weekends both demand a pack that takes a heavier load without sagging. The Ridgeback 55 connects a peripheral 7000-series aluminum frame to a load-bearing hip belt with a thermoformed EVA core, and the harness slides on a ladder track to match torsos from 41 to 56 cm (16 to 22 in), adjustable while you wear it.
Organization is generous without getting fussy: a top lid that converts into a 6-liter summit bag, a front panel zipper into the main compartment, two hip belt pockets, a phone pocket on the right shoulder strap and a hydration sleeve. The fabric is 420-denier recycled high-tenacity nylon with a reinforced 630-denier base.
At 1.95 kg (4 lb 5 oz) it is not the lightest pack in the range, but it handles loads up to 23 kg (50 lb). Lifetime warranty. Shown in burgundy with slate gray trim.
