Description
Open the valve and the Groundswell’s open-cell foam core expands on its own, drawing in air until the pad is nearly full; a few breaths finish the job. That foam makes it quieter and more resistant to punctures than an air-only pad, and it still insulates if it ever loses pressure.
At 5 cm (2 in) thick with an R-value of 5.2, it is warm enough for spring snow camping and cushioned enough for side sleepers on car camping trips or short backpacking approaches. Die-cut channels in the foam trim weight to 1.1 kg (2 lb 7 oz) and let it roll tighter. The top fabric is a brushed polyester that feels soft on skin, and the base is durable 75-denier polyester.
Store it unrolled with the valve open to keep the foam resilient. Shown in rust with a charcoal base.
